 Welcome
Whether your passion is ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop or praise
dancing. You will find a class that meets your needs. We have instruction
for all ages and skill levels from 3 years old to adult.
Our school is recognized with students who have gone on to professional
dance careers and are members of professional dance companies and attending
universities on dance scholarships.
You are invited to explore our website, enjoy our photos, and learn more

Performing a dream

Tara Herringdine, 32, wants to teach life lessons. For more than 15 years,
she has been teaching dancers the reward of hard work and discipline.
She is the owner and director of Cumberland Dance Academy at 5540 Trade
St.
Herringdine began studying dance at the Ann Clark School of Dance in
Eutaw Shopping Center, known for its exceptional ballet instruction. When
Clark retired, she turned the studio over to Herringdine, who was just
17 at the time. She said barely even knew how to write a check. Herringdine
said she believes Clark saw in her the potential and knack for teaching.
